LSU trending to add two coveted targets to No. 1 recruiting class
No program has more buzz on the recruiting trail early in the 2025 cycle than LSU, with the Tigers holding the No. 1 overall class in the On3 Industry Football Team Recruiting Rankings.
That includes three five-star commitments — the only program in the country to do that by late February. In total, Brian Kelly and Co. have nine pledges, all of whom rank as blue-chip prospects (four- and five-stars) in the On3 Industry Ranking.
They’ll be adding more to their class in the coming months, and the Tigers are already trending for two elite targets in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).
4-star OT Micah DeBose
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 68
On3 RPM: LSU 94.4%, Alabama 1.9%
Intel: “Pritchard (Ala.) offensive tackle Micah Debose visited Auburn, LSU and Mississippi State early in 2024 before the dead period kicked in. All three SEC schools are in the mix, but the buzz is around two Tigers: Auburn and LSU. The in-state school had buzz around it even when Debose was still committed to Georgia. Hugh Freeze and his staff have done a great job. LSU got DeBose on campus recently though, and LSU has picked up some momentum. Ohio State is a school outside the SEC in the mix as well. Alabama and Florida State are others Debose is in regular contact with. He is one who could commit in the coming months.” — Chad Simmons, On3 Director of Recruiting

4-star RB James Simon
On3 Industry Ranking: No. 176
On3 RPM: LSU 94.1%, Texas A&M 1.6%
Intel: “James Simon is ranked as On3’s No. 3 prospect in Louisiana, and a commitment from the Top 150 recruit would give LSU verbal pledges from the Top 8 prospects in the Bayou State.
… The LSU football staff is off to a red-hot start in recruiting for the 2025 cycle, and multiple sources feel the Tigers have the lead and are inching closer to getting Simon on board. While there isn’t a timetable for a decision, I’m confident the Tigers have maintained the top spot in the race.” — Shea Dixon, TheBengalTiger.com recruiting insider
