Brian Kelly confirms Logan Diggs is with LSU, expected to be available vs. Texas A&M
LSU gets back one of their biggest offensive playmakers for their season finale on Saturday with head coach Brian Kelly revealing that running back Logan Diggs is expected to suit up for the Tigers this weekend as they take on Texas A&M.
Diggs has missed LSU’s last two games due to injury, with some saying they did not see him present on the sidelines for last Saturday’s win against Georgia State, which Kelly cleared up along with this health status in a press conference on Monday.
“He was with the team. He should be available, he’s been dealing with an upper-body injury,” Kelly said. “He’s in good stead with the team, so he was with us at the hotel, he was with us throughout. He may have popped inside for a little bit, but he was with us throughout the entire week of preparation.”
Diggs also missed the Tigers’ opening game of the season this year but made his LSU debut in Week 2 with an impressive 115-yard performance versus Grambling State where he averaged a season-high 7.7 yards per carry and found the end zone for a touchdown.
He started his collegiate career at Notre Dame, spending two years with the Fighting Irish where he recorded 1,317 yards of total offense and 10 touchdowns before transferring to Baton Rouge this offseason.

Quarterback Jayden Daniels has been the engine of LSU’s offense this season as a Heisman Trophy contender who leads the Tigers in rushing yards this season. But Diggs ranks second on the team in rushing with 635 yards and six touchdowns on the ground this year.
He’s been an important piece of LSU’s rushing attack this season, but not the only piece, which is part of the reason why he’s missed some time and will likely return this Saturday.
“He tried diligently on Thursday, we put him through a pretty good workout on Thursday,” Kelly said. “We just felt like again, with the depth that we have at that position we wanted him, he’s a guy that initiates contact, he’s a physical runner. We wanted him 100% for A&M.”
Diggs will give the Tigers a much-needed boost in the run game as they face a Texas A&M team that not only defeated them last season in their regular season finale, but now boasts the SEC’s best rush defense holding opponents to just 102.4 yards on the ground per game.
Diggs and LSU will host the Aggies this Saturday at noon ET in a game airing on ESPN.
