LSU hasn’t hit the Midwest hard on the recruiting trail under previous regimes, but that looks to be changing under new head coach Brian Kelly. The Tigers dipped into the Kansas City area on Thursday to offer a pair of teammates at North Kansas City High: Adepoju Adebawore and Edric Hill.
Adebawore is the No. 170 prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 19 EDGE and No. 5 junior prospect in Missouri.
On3’s own rankings are much higher on him though, pegging him as the No. 50 prospect nationally, No. 9 EDGE and No. 2 prospect in the Show-Me State.
The 6-foot-4, 235-pounder has seen his recruitment explode since this fall, adding offers from USC, Oklahoma, Georgia, Miami and LSU in the past two weeks alone. Adebawore is coming off a visit to Kansas at the end of January. And he is expected to visit Oklahoma in March when the dead period ends.

Edric Hill racking up offers as well
Although his recruiting process has been a little quieter recently than Adebawore’s, Hill is still one of the more prized defensive linemen in the country. He checks in at No. 274 nationally, with the On3 Consensus ranking him as the nation’s No. 35 defensive lineman and No. 8 Missouri prospect.
Hill visited Alabama and Oregon in January, and Ducks’ head coach Dan Lanning has strong connections to the Kansas City area. Iowa, Arkansas, USC, Minnesota and Missouri are among the other teams in pursuit.
