LSU pitcher Aiden Moffett plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, he announced Wednesday evening on Twitter.

“I have recently entered my name in the transfer portal. Forever LSU,” he posted.

Moffett signed with LSU after being ranked as the top righty in the state of Mississippi in the class of 2022. He was also ranked as the No. 56 right-handed pitcher in the country for his class by Perfect Game.

Over the course of his high school career, Aiden Moffett recorded 305 strikeouts in 165 2/3 innings. He posted a 16-6 record and a 1.65 ERA in high school.

As a freshman in 2023, Moffett appeared in one game, allowing three walks and one earned run without recording an out. He had a much larger role in 2023 and continued to struggle with walks. However, he did record 21 strikeouts in 17 2/3 innings pitched.

Aiden Moffett helped LSU to a 42-23 record in 2024. The Tigers reached the finals of the Chapel Hill Regional, before falling to North Carolina in a winner-take-all game on Monday.

LSU outfielder Dallas Dale II enters NCAA Transfer Portal

Aiden Moffett wasn’t the only LSU player to enter the transfer portal on Wednesday. Earlier in the day, Dallas Dale II entered the transfer portal.

According to Dale II’s biography of the LSU Baseball website, Dale was the No. 9 ranked outfielder and No. 54 overall player in Florida by Perfect Game for Class of 2023, ranked nationally as No. 61 outfielder by Perfect Game and batted .400 in 2023 with 32 hits, 33 runs, nine homers and 29 RBI.

Earlier this season, Dale II walked away from baseball, but it seems as if he’s looking for a different opportunity as he returns to the sport.

“After much thought and a lot of prayer, I have decided to walk away from baseball due to personal reasons. I want to thank (LSU baseball), my coaches and my teammates for all the support,” Dale wrote on X. “Also, a special thanks to (Johnson) for the opportunity and the experience. Much love and respect. God bless.”

Now, Dallas Dale II will hope to rekindle his love for the sport, with a different program other than the LSU Tigers next season.
