According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Washington (D.C.) Archbishop Carroll five-star athlete Nyckoles Harbor is currently favored to commit to Michigan at 33%. However, LSU isn’t far behind at 26.8%.

The Tigers are getting an Oct. 7 official visit from Harbor, who is one of the most athletic recruits in the 2023 recruiting class. He runs track and has the ability to play both sides of the ball. As a result, Steve Wiltfong believes that the No. 9 overall player in the 2023 On3 Consensus could fill a key need in LSU’s 2023 recruiting class.

“As they try and put this recruiting class together, they want one more tight end, one more pass catcher, one more mismatch, something along those lines,” Wiltfong said. “And I think that that’s a spot where they could view Nyckoles Harbor as well.”

Harbor, who stands at 6-foot-5 and weights 225 pounds, ran the 100-meter-dash in a personal-record 10.28 seconds and the 200-meter-dash in 20.79 seconds, the fourth-fastest time ever by a high school sprinter in the U.S.

Since Harbor wants to run track in college, Wiltfong believes offense could be an appealing option for the five-star recruit. He added that LSU “has a lot going for them in this recruitment” and Harbor has a good relationship with Tigers defensive line coach Jamar Cain.

“I think offense is something that’s very exciting to him because it allows him to keep the weight he wants to keep, to run the track times he wants to run in the spring and it’s also less pounding on the body,” Wiltfong said. “You’re not trying to hit somebody on every play if you’re on offense. So I think that that’s something that LSU’s certainly open to. That’s a position of need for them.”

Nyckoles Harbor On3 Scouting Summary

The following is the On3 Scouting Summary for Nyckoles Harbor:

“Has the best combination of size and speed we’ve seen from a young prospect as a national-level sprinter at 6-foot-5 and over 230 pounds. Runs under 10.4 seconds in the 100 meters with the size and length of a premier pass rushing prospect. Plays both tight end and defensive end for his high school, but has developed into more of an EDGE prospect as a junior. Shows his considerable athleticism as a pass rusher with high end closing speed. Is also able to locate and track the ball as a tight end. Still unrefined technically as a pass rusher. Productive against sub-par competition.”
