LSU safety Kylin Jackson plans to enter NCAA transfer portal

LSU is losing another talented player to the transfer portal. Safety Kylin Jackson is planning to enter the portal, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett. The news was revealed by Fawcett Thursday on Twitter.
Jackson signed with LSU as a four-star recruit and the No. 13 safety in the country in the class of 2023, per the On3 Industry rankings.
He appeared in all 12 games for the Tigers this season, recording 4 tackles and a quarterback hurry. As a true freshman in 2023, Jackson appeared in five games, recording one tackle. He also helped LSU on special teams.
Jackson attended Zachary High School in Clinton, Louisiana prior to attending LSU. He had a pair of interceptions for the Tigers in 2022.

LSU wide receiver Shelton Sampson Jr. plans to enter Transfer Portal
The news about Jackson planning to enter the transfer portal came not long after news broke that receiver Shelton Sampson Jr. was planning to enter the portal.
Sampson Jr. came to LSU as a four-star recruit in the Class of 2023, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. He played his high school football at Catholic in Baton Rouge, LA. There, he was the 14th-ranked wide receiver and the 80th-ranked recruit overall in the country.
In 2023, Sampson took a redshirt, playing in three games but not starting any of those games. He did not record any stats in those appearances either. He would go on to play in eight games, earning a start in 2024. However, he still did not earn a stat at the wide receiver position for LSU.
This comes following a disappointing season for the LSU Tigers, going 8-4 overall and 5-3 in the SEC. It was a good season but not one to keep the Tigers in the conversation for either the SEC Championship or the College Football Playoff.
