LSU social media takes victory lap on number of players on NFL rosters in Week 1
The LSU Tigers’ football program has cranked out tons of talented players to the National Football League over the years. That’s pretty common knowledge for most football fans. That didn’t stop the Tigers from letting everyone know just how many players they had on active rosters in the NFL on Week 1, 52 if you’re keeping track. That tied them with the Ohio State Buckeyes for the second most players in the NFL of any team in the country.
Check out the extensive list they dropped on Twitter on Thursday afternoon.
LSU ranked second among all college football programs
“For the sixth consecutive season, Alabama had the most or tied for the most players (58) on active NFL Kickoff Weekend rosters, the league announced,” the NFL wrote. “The Crimson Tide also placed the most active NFL players on season-opening rosters in 2018 (44), 2019 (56), 2020 (53) and 2021 (54), and shared the league lead in 2017 (39).
“LSU (52) and Ohio State (52) ranked tied for second in 2022, followed by Georgia (44).”
