LSU softball star Georgia Clark appears to criticize official during home run celebration
LSU dropped the first game of their Regional Final matchup with the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin Cajuns, 7-4 on Sunday afternoon. There was a controversial ruling in the top of the seventh inning, when the Tigers were mounting a threat with two runners on base. LSU star Georgia Clark belted a ball down the left field line that was ruled a foul. It would have been potentially a game-tying home run.
The Tigers’ head coach wanted a review of the foul. The umpire told her it could not be reviewed, Clark grounded out on the next pitch, and the game was over. Rest assured, Clark did not forget about the controversial ruling in their second game with ULL on Sunday evening. Trailing 6-0, the LSU star smacked a home run and made sure to let the umpire know about his bad ruling in their previous game.

The Tigers rallied to take the lead in Sunday night’s game up with Louisiana-Lafayette. LSU currently trails 9-8 in the top of the seventh inning. The matchup is currently being televised on ESPN2. The game has been very emotionally charged and it’s clear both teams want to punch their tickets to the next round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament.

It’s also surprising that she wasn’t ejected after criticizing an umpire like that right to their face, rounding the bases. People have been ejected for much less. She’s been one of the best power hitters in LSU history, and stepped up to provide a spark for her team in a clutch moment.
On Saturday, May 20th, LSU won their matchup with ULL 4-0. On Friday, the Tigers defeated Prairie View A&M 12-2 in their Regional matchup of the NCAA Tournament.
LSU lost in the second round of the SEC Tournament to the Ole Miss Rebels, 5-3. Two of their biggest wins of the season came against the Georgia Bulldogs, when the Tigers won 2-1 and 9-1 on Sunday, May 7th. Last season, LSU lost both games in the NCAA Regional, first to San Diego State (10-5) and then to Cal-State Fullerton (3-2).
