LOOK: LSU star Dylan Crews rocks custom shoes for Opening Day
LSU star Dylan Crews is the projected top overall pick in the 2023 MLB Draft. He’s established himself as one of the elite talents in college baseball, earning consensus first team All-American honors in 2022. He’s a big reason why many people have pegged the LSU Tigers as the favorite to win the 2023 National Championship in college baseball.
Not only is he a top-notch player, but on Opening Day for college baseball on Friday, Crews proved that he’s also got top-notch style with his cleats. He decided to rock some Jellyfish Fields cleats to honor Spongebob Squarepants–the popular cartoon.

LSU dominated their season opener on Friday against Western Michigan, 10-0. In three plate appearances, Crews had two hits, scoring two runs for the Tigers. LSU will continue their three-game series this weekend against the Broncos, with games on Saturday and Sunday.
Last season, Crews took home SEC Co-Player of the Year honors for the Tigers, after he started in 62 games in center field, batting .349, 22 home runs, and 72 RBIs. He became LSU’s first SEC Player of the Year since 2012, when Raph Rhymes earned the honor.

Crews led the SEC in runs scored (73) and he also finished second in the league in triples (four), third in RBIs (72), third in total bases (172), fourth in home runs (22), and fifth in hits (87). In 2021, he earned National Freshman of the Year honors from Perfect Game, after he hit .362, 16 doubles, two triples, 18 home runs, and 42 RBIs. His 18 home runs were the most ever by a freshman in LSU baseball history.
Before joining LSU, Crews was rated as the No. 13 player in America by Perfect Game, and he became the highest ranked player to attend college since 2020. He was also named an Under Armour All-American in 2019.
