LSU junior cornerback makes decision on future
LSU cornerback Cordale Flott has decided to turn pro, according to On3’s Matt Zenitz. The junior started two seasons with other injuries at the position and finished 2021 with 41 tackles and an interception.
Cordale Flott is a former three-star recruit who chose LSU over Auburn, Ole Miss and others in 2019. The Saraland, Alabama native made 29 total appearances over his college career with 98 tackles, 10 pass deflections and also one interception.
The Tigers have already lost sophomore Eli Ricks to the transfer portal and junior Derek Stingley Jr still has a decision to make. The remaining cornerbacks on the roster include sophomore Dwight McGlothern and sophomore Raydarious Jones, who will work under a new cornerback coach after the departure of longtime assistant Corey Raymond.
Brian Kelly on LSU future
Brian Kelly’s resume speaks for itself. Only time will tell if he’s the coach to make LSU the next Alabama in the SEC. Georgia has made significant strides — and there are plenty of ascending SEC programs– so Kelly is expected to win quickly.
While joining the broadcast booth during the Texas Bowl, the new LSU front man said his vision for the program comes down to exactly two things.
“This is about graduating from LSU and playing for championships,” Kelly said.
“And that’s why I’m in the business. And the alignment of the university towards that end, it’s really what pushed me towards this position.”

Brian Kelly elaborated on his plan for fully immersing himself in the community, which doesn’t seemingly fit his personality coming from a place like Notre Dame, so LSU fans will hope he understands the culture change going to the SEC.
“On doing what it takes —-Well look, at the end of the day, this is about, for me, I want to be a part of this community,” Kelly added.
“I want to be a part of Louisiana. I’m originally from the Midwest and East Coast and so I want to really immerse myself in Louisiana and this community and I’m so excited to be down here in Baton Rouge. They’ve treated us great. It’s about family.”
For now, Brian Kelly must also hire a staff that understands the recruiting landscape in the SEC. LSU is a premier brand in college football and already has a roster with top-tier talent, depending who sticks around by the start of next season.
