LSU will be without its top running back during its final nonconference game of the year. Junior Logan Diggs will miss Saturday’s game against Georgia State, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel.

Earlier this week, LSU head coach Brian Kelly announced that Diggs was doubtful for the matchup.

Diggs has rushed for 635 yards and six touchdowns this season, which is behind only quarterback Jayden Daniels on LSU’s team. He is averaging 5.6 yards per carry on the season.

The Notre Dame transfer also missed last weekend’s game against Florida, which LSU won 52-35.

The Tigers didn’t miss a beat on offense without Diggs as star quarterback Jayden Daniels put together a record-setting performance.

The senior passed for 372 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 234 yards and two scores.

Outside of Daniels, the rest of the LSU rushing attack managed only 95 yards on 23 carries, so the Tigers did still appear to miss Diggs some.

Still, LSU is a big favorite for Saturday’s game against Georgia State, even with Logan Diggs unlikely to suit up. The Tigers are currently favored by 32 points. It remains to be seen if Diggs will be able to return for the regular season finale against Texas A&M next weekend.

Brian Kelly shares what makes Jayden Daniels special off the field

LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels not only had a great game against Florida, but he has been impressive all season.

Tigers coach Brian Kelly said earlier this week that Daniels isn’t just a star on the field, he’s also incredible off of it.

“Approachable – and, when I say approachable, I mean he has never been a guy that has built a bubble around himself,” Kelly said. “He has been a guy that has, I think, made himself available everybody on the team, whether it’s an offensive player or a defensive player. When somebody comes in and transfers in? Their guard is up. His has always been one where he has been approachable. He has always been somebody that has reached out to others on our football team. I just think that has made our entire team embrace him because he has been so readily available to everybody on our team – not just the offensive players but the defensive players.”

“His demeanor, his personality? You see him smiling on the sideline all the time. That’s the way he is whether he’s in meetings, whether he’s in the football building. He has that personality and I think it’s infectious.”
