WATCH: LSU football releases heartwarming Mother’s Day video
LSU football is all about family as they transition to new head coach Brian Kelly, and there is no more important piece to family than a mother. In celebration of Mother’s Day on Sunday, the social media team and players on the roster put together a video to honors the moms who make every day special.
With guest appearances from linebacker Mike Jones, quarterback Myles Brennan, defensive back Greg Brooks, defensive lineman Mekhi Wingo, wide receiver Evan Francioni, running back Josh Williams, defensive backs Joe Foucha and Mekhi Garner, tight end Jack Bech, offensive lineman Garrett Dellinger, defensive back Jarrick Bernard-Converse and offensive lineman Miles Frazier, the video shows great emotion.
As each one recognizes their own mom and moms around the world on Mother’s Day, the players on the field become more relatable as humans living their own life outside the LSU football program.
Brian Kelly on LSU
Brian Kelly believed he had to address the “organizational health” of LSU before anything else. When he first said it, some believed it was a shot at former Tigers coach Ed Orgeron, and the way the program was left. However, the former Notre Dame coach clarified what exactly he meant by the comment in a press conference on Saturday.

“Organizational health is communication. People communicating the same way. When it’s healthy, everybody’s collaborative and there’s a cohesiveness on an everyday basis,” explained Kelly. “I love where we are. I think we’ve got a great staff that’s able to do that. So, when we talk about that in particular, there’s always reasons why things go the way they do. One of the things I identified is that we needed to have great organizational health. Every program that I’ve been at, that has been one of the tenants for success.
“Creating that early on, and I’ve kind of alluded to this, is maybe one of the reasons why it was a little bit of a slower roll out in bringing the coaches out. I had to really make sure the foundational pieces were together for that organizational health.”
As you can see, Brian Kelly wanted to have the foundation laid in Baton Rouge before anything else. Everywhere Kelly has coached, his team has won, and many believe it’s because of the backbone he builds at each stop. Evidently, it’ll be no different as Kelly takes on his biggest challenge yet — the SEC, and the LSU Tigers.
