Former UTSA Roadrunners wide receiver Gregory Clayton Jr. is on his way back to his home state of Louisiana. Clayton announced from his social media account that he is headed to Baton Rouge to join the LSU Tigers for the 2022 season.

The former Roadrunner senior receiver was a junior college transfer that joined UTSA in the summer of 2020. Clayton was a three-star recruit who ranked 268 nationally and No. 31 from the state of Louisiana in the 2018 recruiting class. Unfortunately for Clayton, he struggled to see the field in his two years at UTSA. He primarily contributed on special teams and defense, recording eight tackles, six solo, four tackles for loss, and one sack over his two years with the Roadrunners.

With Clayton heading to Baton Rouge, he will now be just under 45 minutes away from home as the LSU receiver grew up right down the road in Convent, LA.
