Former Ohio State and LSU transfer defensive back Jyaire Brown committed to UCF on Sunday evening, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett. The 5-foot, 11-inch defensive back will have two years of eligibility remaining.

Brown played in the three games for the Tigers this fall, finishing with three total tackles. He played against USC, UCLA, and South Alabama.

He joined LSU in January of 2024, spending two years with Ohio State before making his way to Baton Rouge. During his time with OSU, Brown appeared in 14 games, finishing with one start. In 2023 at OSU, he appeared in four games in a reserve role, tallying one tackle against Michigan State.

In 2022, he played in 10 games, starting one game for the Buckeyes. He tallied two tackles against Michigan State and against Iowa. Brown forced a fumble against Michigan State as well.

The Lakota West High School product played 197 defensive snaps in 2022, the most of any Buckeyes true freshman that season, but he saw the field for only 48 defensive snaps in 2023, according to Pro Football Focus.

Brown played high school football at Lakota West High School, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 202 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services.

Brown led the Greater Miami Conference with five interceptions his senior year. He was also named the Southwest District Division I football defensive player of the year from the Ohio Sportswriters Association. As a wide receiver, he hauled in 26 catches for 416 receiving yards and four touchdowns in 13 games.

A highly touted prospect, he was also selected to play in the 2022 All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas.
