LSU didn’t waste any time trolling Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin of a joke he made about Brian Kelly shortly after he arrived in Baton Rogue. One of Kelly’s earliest public moments as the new Tigers coach was a video of him dancing beside tight end recruit Danny Lewis Jr. — a video that Kiffin joked had to be fake or that Kelly’s account was hacked.

On Saturday, the Tigers took down the undefeated Rebels 45-20 and made a statement against one of the top teams in the SEC. After the big win, LSU’s Twitter account shared a photo of Kelly with emojis saying “no rat poison” in response to Kiffin’s joke back in January.

Kiffin is no stranger to social media being used to poke and jab at rivals after big wins, but Saturday was one of the rare times he was on the receiving end. In addition to the friendly jab between SEC opponents, the post even used one of the most popular phrases in the conference by referencing Alabama coach Nick Saban’s “rat poison” comments.

In a funny twist to the SEC connections, the player in the video Kelly was mocked for dancing in didn’t actually come to LSU when he made his signing decision — Lewis signed with Saban and the Crimson Tide.

The video with Lewis wasn’t the only video that made its way around the internet when Kelly first came to LSU, he filmed a similar “360-spinning” video with five-star quarterback Walker Howard that was set to Garth Brooks’s iconic “Callin’ Baton Rouge” song.
