LSU vs. Nicholls State weather update: Tigers make final decision on Wednesday baseball game

The LSU-Nicholls State baseball game scheduled for Wednesday evening in Thibodaux, La. has been cancelled due to extremely cold and inclement weather in south Louisiana. The Tigers issued an official release on their Twitter page and school website.
A few hours later, officials from both schools finally settled on times for both of their meetings in the 2025 season. LSU will play host to Nicholls State on Monday, Feb. 24th in Alex Box Stadium at 6:00 PM CST. Then the Tigers will face the Colonels in Thibodaux, Louisiana at 6:00 PM CST on Tuesday, April 8th. That will take place at Ben Meyer Diamond and Ray Didier Field.
LSU and Nicholls State were originally slated to meet on April 8th in Baton Rouge. However, that LSU home game will now be played on a Monday. Tigers’ ticket holders must present their Game 23 tickets in order to be admitted into Alex Box Stadium for Monday’s game.

The Tigers’ baseball team is off to a 4-0 start this year, with all four of those wins coming at home. Pitcher Kade Anderson currently leads the team in strikeouts with eight. In five innings of work, Anderson has fanned eight batters, allowing just four hits and one walk. Chase Shores has thrown seven strikeouts in five innings for LSU. He’s allowed three hits and one earned run.

Daniel Dickinson leads the Tigers in RBI’s (nine), and he’s tied for the lead in total bases with 10. Derek Curiel also has 10 total bases and he’s driven in six RBIs so far.
Next up for second-ranked LSU will be a three-game series with Omaha. The series will be played over a span of three days. One will be Friday, Feb. 21st at 4:00 CST. The second game will be on Saturday, Feb. 22nd at 2:00 PM CST. And the third will be played on Sunday, Feb. 23rd. That one is slated 1:00 PM CST.
