LSU WR CJ Daniels plans to enter NCAA transfer portal
LSU wide receiver CJ Daniels plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
Daniels spent just one season at LSU and he fell short of his career highs. He finished the 2024 season with 42 catches for 480 yards and 11.4 yards per catch.
Daniels will look for the third school of his college career when he enters the portal. He started his football career at Liberty.
Overall, Daniels has 148 catches for 2,439 yards, 21 touchdowns and 16.5 yards per catch.
As a member of the Class of 2020, Daniels was a three-star recruit out of Lilburn (Ga.) Parkview, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 226 overall prospect in the state, the No. 353 wide receiver in the class and the No. 2,398 overall prospect in the class.

CJ Daniels to enter transfer portal
So Daniels will look elsewhere to continue and finish his college career. Meanwhile, LSU coach Brian Kelly wants to improve this offseason to finally get over the hump going into Year 4.
Safe to say, 8-4 wasn’t cutting it for the program and Kelly.
“I’m proud of my team,” head coach Brian Kelly said postgame. “The last two weeks, they listened to the narratives out there that they were not excited to play for anything and the season was over, and they simply went out and played inspired football. The last two weeks, they put consistent performances together. … This team over three years is 19-2 at home.
“So, whatever camp you want to jump into, go right ahead. We had five freshmen and two sophomores on defense today playing their tails off. We’re taking receipts and we’ll see you at the national championship.”
