Ole Miss students, Da'Shawn Womack go back and forth ahead of matchup
The LSU Tigers and Ole Miss Rebels are getting ready to face off in Oxford, Mississippi. Things are always heated in SEC games, and it simply doesn’t take much to get fans and players fired up. That’s the beauty of college football across the country.
Ahead of Saturday night’s game, LSU freshman defensive end Da’Shawn Womack went back and forth with some Ole Miss students with some pre-game banter.

Record crowd in attendance for Ole Miss-LSU game
Ole Miss broke the program record for attendance Saturday as it hosted LSU at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. According to a tweet from the Rebels football account, 66,703 fans were there to watch the team take on the Tigers.
Ole Miss announced that its game against LSU was sold out before the season even began. The previous record was set in 2016 as 66,176 people gathered to watch the Rebels take on No. 1 Alabama. Ole Miss came close to an upset in that game, but ultimately lost 48-43.
Saturday night marked the eighth time the Rebels have surpassed 65,000 since 2016.
The big crowd seemed to work in Ole Miss’ favor early as it jumped out to a 21-7 lead on the Tigers after the first quarter. However, LSU came back in the second and scored two touchdowns in the final five minutes to cut the deficit to 31-28 heading into halftime.

The Rebels pulled off the win in the end
The Rebels entered the fourth quarter of Saturday’s game against LSU down by a touchdown, but showed up when it needed to in the final 15 minutes. The Rebels not only scored on their final two drives — including the go-ahead touchdown with 39 seconds remaining — but also came up with a defensive stop to seal the win.
The Tigers got all the way down to the Ole Miss 16-yard line with 12 seconds remaining after the Rebels dropped an interception a couple plays prior. But the final pass from Jayden Daniels to the end zone fell incomplete, as Ole Miss hung on for a 55-49 victory in front of a record crowd of 66,703.
The Rebels got a standout performance from their superstar running back, Quinshon Judkins. He had 34 carries for 181 rushing yards and a touchdown in the win.
Up next for Judkins and company, they’ll take on the Arkansas Razorbacks on Oct. 7th.
