Paul Finebaum reveals his opinion of LSU has dramatically changed

No. 12 LSU is back in business after going to Starkville this weekend and doing a number on Mississippi State. It was such a good outing from the Tigers that Paul Finebaum has since admitted that we all might have jumped ship too quickly when it came to their season.
Finebaum spoke about LSU’s 41-14 blowout over the Bulldogs on ‘McElroy and Cubelic In The Morning’ on Monday. He said that the SEC Nation crew could tell there was a difference in the Tigers inside Davis Wade Stadium. While he did add that they looked as though they were playing an outmatched opponent, Finebaum then added that this game may have shown that we took too much away from the openers in week one.
“You could just tell that they looked like they had a different mindset. You saw that immediately as that game began,” said Finebaum. “Now, some of that was really Mississippi State. That program just didn’t look like it knew, really, what hit them.”
“I think these opening games? We can read way too much into them,” Finebaum said. “We read an awful lot into LSU, we obviously read too much into Florida losing to Utah. I mean these were brutal games to start the season.”
In their opener, Florida State rocked LSU in a similar fashion to what LSU did to Mississippi State this weekend. The Tiger’s performance against the Bulldogs, though, was exactly what the doctor ordered.
The offense, specifically Jayden Daniels and Malik Nabers, had a day as their quarterback posted 425 total yards and four scores on an 88.2% completion rate while their wide receiver caught 13 passes for 239 yards and both of Daniels’ touchdowns throws.

Meanwhile, on defense, they held Mississippi State to just 201 yards of offense and 3-13 on third down as QB Will Rogers finished the day by going 11-28 (39.3%) for just 103 yards and no touchdowns.
Some of the preseason faith had been lost in Baton Rouge after what the Seminoles did to them in Orlando. Even so, while this is just one game, some of that trust has returned, including from Finebaum, based on how LSU looked in week three.
Finebaum puts LSU back in the conversation as SEC’s best team after Week 3
LSU knows how to bounce back. Now, the program certainly has Paul Finebaum’s attention.
During an appearance on ‘The Matt Barrie Show’ on Sunday, Finebaum commented on whether he believes LSU is the best team in the SEC after Week 3.
“I think you have to, especially in the (SEC) West. I’m holding onto Georgia (in the SEC East),” Finebaum said. “The good thing about the West is that the conference losses haven’t happened. A&M lost, LSU lost, even Arkansas lost.”
