Starting LSU offensive lineman Will Campbell hospitalized hours before Tennessee game
In a shocking turn of events, LSU starting left tackle Will Campbell appears to be hospitalized, as the Tigers offensive lineman shared a photo of himself in a hospital bed late Friday night.
There hasn’t been an official statement regarding Campbell, but his status for Saturday’s game against the Tennessee Volunteers is certainly uncertain now. Check out the picture below, which Campbell shared to his Instagram story for all to see.

“Appreciate all the prayers,” Campbell captioned the photo. “I’ll be back.”
Moreover, Campbell was one of LSU’s top recruits in the Class of 2022, a four-star offensive lineman out of Monroe, Louisiana, according to the On3 Consensus. The now-LSU starter was the No. 3 overall recruit out of Louisiana, the No. 2 overall interior offensive lineman and the No. 40 overall player in the nation coming out of high school.
In 2022, Will Campbell had been essential to the success of Brian Kelly’s Tigers, helping protect Jayden Daniels and allowing him to lead the LSU offense. If he’s to miss the SEC showdown with Tennessee, it’d be a huge blow — but hopefully the college football world will receive a positive update on Campbell’s health prior to the 12:00 ET kickoff.

Boutte entered into the 2022 season as one of college football’s top candidates for the Biletnikoff Award. Unfortunately, it has been a slow first four games for the Tigers’ star receiver. Boutte Has hauled in 11 receptions for 97 yards on the season. He also has one rush for 41 yards. Boutte has yet to find the endzone or be a consistent contributor in LSU’s offensive game plan.
Although Boutte has struggled, LSU has continued to find ways to win games this season and enters the matchup 3-1 and ranked in the top 25. Their lone loss was a one-point defeat at the hands of the Florida State Seminoles in Week 1.
His stats may not represent his talent this season. However, Boutte is still widely considered one of, if not the top wide receivers expected to enter their name enter the 2023 NFL draft. This week LSU and their fans are hoping that their top-ranked wide receiver will break out of his slump in this highly anticipated matchup.
If Boutte and quarterback Jayden Daniels are on the same page, the junior wide receiver and offensive captain this week will be well-positioned for a breakout performance.
