After jumping out to a quick 3-0 lead over Mississippi State on Sunday afternoon, LSU gave a run back in the top of the third inning, shrinking the gap between the two teams. But just as soon as the lead got smaller, LSU responded quickly.

With no men out and up by two, Tre Morgan took a pitch deep into right field for a home run and another run onto the board. While it was not an overly exciting moment given the score and the time of the game, the distance had eyes popping.

Morgan not only went over the fence, but he went over the Diamond Deck in right field and hit the training facility for the Tigers. The home run, which you can see below, was measured at 411 feet.

For Morgan, the home run was just his fifth that he has had this season, so it came as a slight bit of a shock. Morgan had the ninth-most individual home runs for the Tigers entering this game but was still hitting an impressive .315 average.

The Tigers jumped out to their three-run lead with a big second inning. A three-run home run from Brayden Jobert in the bottom of the second inning gave LSU the quick lead. The Bulldogs scored on a double from Dakota Jordan, driving in David Mershon.

If things continue to go in LSU’s favor during this game, it would just be another win in what has been an incredible season. The Tigers entered today’s game with a 39-11 overall record and a 17-8 mark in league play. But while things have been good all year, they have struggled a bit as of late. LSU fell to Mississippi State on Saturday and has lost three of its last five games before today, making the Sunday finale a crucial one.
