Thursday night’s pitching duel between Wake Forest ace Rhett Lowder and LSU ace Paul Skenes has lived up to the hype and then some. Both teams remain scoreless through eighth innings, and the LSU Tigers have Tre’ Morgan to thank for potentially saving their season. He made a game-changing play when he threw a Wake runner out at home plate, ensuring that the Demon Deacons stayed scoreless through the top of the eighth inning.

Tre’ Morgan made one of the best plays of the year

Wake Forest tried to bunt, but Morgan raced in to field the ball, firing it perfectly to home plate to tag the runner out at home. It was a really impressive play. Check it out below.

There was a really nice picture posted of the play at the plate by LSU baseball on Thursday night. Check out the amazing picture here. The play was challenged by Wake Forest, but the call was upheld, and the runner was out. It was clearly correct as you can see from the picture.

When Morgan steps onto the baseball field, he’s one of the more recognizable faces in all of college baseball. That’s not because of his size or stature, but because of his bleach-blonde dyed hair. His father recently spoke with Jacques Doucet of WAFB 9 Sports about the first day that he saw his son with his eyeball catching dew.

Check out their interview below. The transcribed quotes are below the interview.

“Going into the second year, he kind of teetered with a little reddish kind of thing,” John Morgan began. “His sister, she’s in cosmetology. So, he goes into the back room. He comes out and I’m in the kitchen at the time. And he says, ‘Dad what do you think?’

“And man what I’d tell you. Wow. I just looked at this kid and I was like, ‘Wow. Look at that,” Morgan continued. “I said, ‘Well, son, I said, you’re of age. It’s your life. It’s college. I said, here’s what I’m gonna give you. When you look like that, you have blonde hair. You better know how to play, man. You better be good. [He] looks right at me and says, ‘Don’t worry about it. I got this, Dad.’ And hence the blonde hair. She [his sister] drives up there from time to time and does it for him.”

Morgan’s father didn’t shy away from how popular the blonde hair has become amongst the LSU baseball fan base. “It’s a thing. It’s a real-life thing, man. It’s taken on it’s own personality. I literally see little bitty kids with the blonde wigs and they call this little baby, they call him baby Tre. Really? Okay! Let’s go!” Morgan laughed with a smile on his face.

This season, Tre Morgan has blasted nine home runs for the Tigers, to go along with bringing in 50 RBIs. Tiger fans are loving his flashy dew even more after he made such an amazing play like the one on Thursday night.
