Tre' Morgan's father talks about the first day that his son debuted his blonde hairstyle
When LSU slugger Tre Morgan steps onto the baseball field, he’s one of the more recognizable faces in all of college baseball. That’s not because of his size or stature, but because of his bleach-blonde dyed hair. His father recently spoke with Jacques Doucet of WAFB 9 Sports about the first day that he saw his son with his eyeball catching dew.
Check out his awesome story below from Jacques Doucet’s interview. You can also read the transcribed version below the clip.
“Going into the second year, he kind of teetered with a little reddish kind of thing,” John Morgan began. “His sister, she’s in cosmetology. So, he goes into the back room. He comes out and I’m in the kitchen at the time. And he says, ‘Dad what do you think?’
“And man what I’d tell you. Wow. I just looked at this kid and I was like, ‘Wow. Look at that,” Morgan continued. “I said, ‘Well, son, I said, you’re of age. It’s your life. It’s college. I said, here’s what I’m gonna give you. When you look like that, you have blonde hair. You better know how to play, man. You better be good. [He] looks right at me and says, ‘Don’t worry about it. I got this, Dad.’ And hence the blonde hair. She [his sister] drives up there from time to time and does it for him.”

Morgan’s father didn’t shy away from how popular the blonde hair has become amongst the LSU baseball fan base. “It’s a thing. It’s a real-life thing, man. It’s taken on it’s own personality. I literally see little bitty kids with the blonde wigs and they call this little baby, they call him baby Tre. Really? Okay! Let’s go!” Morgan laughed with a smile on his face.
This season, Tre Morgan has blasted nine home runs for the Tigers, to go along with bringing in 50 RBIs. Tiger fans are hoping that his flashy dew continues to bring them good feelings.
Luckily for LSU fans, the Tiger prevailed on Wednesday night against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. They won 5-2, which means both teams will play again on Thursday night in an elimination game. The winner of that game will punch their ticket to the CWS best-of-three championship series with the Florida Gators. The loser’s 2023 season will be finished.
LSU ace Paul Skenes will get one more chance to break the SEC single-season record for strikeouts.
