The LSU Tigers stunned the No. 17 Kentucky Wildcats on Wednesday night, thanks to a game-winning bucket by Tyrell Ward in the closing seconds. Kentucky’s Rob Dillingham nailed a jumper with 15 seconds left to put the Wildcats up by one, but the Tigers would counter in the closing seconds.

Ward lifted the Tigers to the 75-74 victory in the closing seconds with a bank shot right in front of the hoop. LSU’s Jordan Wright had his shot blocked on the final possession, but he ended up with the ball in his hands, and he passed it to Tyrell Ward in the middle of the lane to get the game-winner off.

As LSU fans stormed the court following Wednesday’s thrilling victory over KentuckyAngel Reese was in the crowd. At one point, she got knocked down – although she was apparently fine with it.

As she reacted to the victory on social media, Reese said it was “worth it” to get knocked over while celebrating with her teammates and fellow students. It marked LSU’s second consecutive victory over a ranked opponent, and it came in thrilling fashion.

“STORMED THE COURT, GOT KNOCKED DOWN BUT GUESS WHAT??? IT WAS ALL WORTH IT!!! … GEAUX TIGERSSSS,” Reese posted on Twitter.

After Tyrell Ward’s shot fell, the celebration began. And even though she ended up hitting the ground at one point, Reese didn’t seem bothered by it at all.

Rob Dillingham put Kentucky back out in front with 15 seconds left, and Matt McMahon opted not to call a timeout as LSU went back down the court. Jordan Wright got his shot blocked, but as the ball bounced around, it ended up in Ward’s hands. He put it back up and it went down as the buzzer sounded – and the fans stormed the court.

With the victory, LSU moved to 14-12 overall and 6-7 in SEC play. The Tigers finished with three different players in double figures, Tyrell Ward (17 points), Jordan Wright (13 points), and Jalen Reed (13 points).

Kentucky’s Rob Dillingham and Antonio Reeves carried them, scoring a combined 48 of their 74 total points. Dillingham hit a number of impressive buckets down the stretch, including a spectacular layup in the lane where he split two Tiger defenders. The Wildcats dropped to 18-8 overall and 8-5 in the SEC.
