Miami Gulliver Prep four-star wide receiver Jalen Brown is one of the top wideouts in the 2023 cycle. The LSU commit is the No. 55 overall prospect and No. 11 wide receiver in the 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. On3 rates him even higher as the No. 54 overall prospect, No. 7 wide receiver and No. 12 player in Florida, per the 2023 On300.

In a scrimmage against Belen Jesuit, Brown notched an impressive catch in close coverage. He fell backward while reeling in the reception, which helped Gulliver Prep score shortly after.

The 6-foot-1, 160 pound wideout scored a touchdown of his own later in the game.

Brown is the second-highest-rated commitment in the Tigers’ 2023 recruiting class behind Baton Rouge (La.) Catholic four-star wide receiver Shelton Sampson Jr. LSU’s group ranks No. 6 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 3 in the SEC.

Brown has an On3 NIL Valuation of $198K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Brown showcased his talents at multiple showcases

The LSU commit has impressed on the camp circuit on multiple occasions. On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power praised the wideout’s skill during the Overtime OT7 seven-on-seven tournament.

“Top 30 receiver Jalen Brown flashed on several instances for the Miami Immortals, including on a deep touchdown on Sunday,” Power wrote. “The Miami Gulliver Prep speedster is one of the top deep threats in the 2023 cycle, but also showed the ability to make some plays on the ball in confined spaces. At 6-foot-1, 160 pounds, he’ll need to continue adding strength to finish through contact.”

Brown also impressed at the Battle New Orleans event. On3’s Sam Spiegelman broke down what made the wide receiver stand out.

“Watching the nation’s No. 4-ranked receiver on separate occasions in Las Vegas and then New Orleans, there is an obvious parallel between Jalen Brown and Heisman Trophy winner DeVonta Smith,” Spiegelman wrote. “Both receivers possess thin frames at 6-foot-1 and 160 pounds and are dangerously smooth and deceptively quick. Brown was outstanding over the middle and attacking vertically, and was dangerous whenever he was left in space. He effortlessly gains separation and has home-run potential.”
