WATCH: Lane Kiffin reacts to Ed Orgeron responding to UCLA heckler
Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin couldn’t contain his laughter after LSU’s Ed Orgeron fired back at a heckler Saturday. The Tiger coach had some choice words for a UCLA fan who was screaming at him from the stands as he arrived for Saturday’s contest.
LSU entered the game at No. 16 in the AP poll. UCLA received two votes after a dominant 44-10 victory against Hawaii on Aug. 28.
Orgeron is entering his sixth year as the coach of the Tigers. He has a 45-14 record during that span, including a national championship victory in 2019. LSU took a big step back last year to finish just 5-5.
On the other side, Chip Kelly is in his fourth year with the Bruins after a brief stint in the NFL. He is still searching for his first winning season after a 3-4 finish in the pandemic-shortened season. The pressure is on him to prove he still has what it takes to lead a winning team this year.

After a scoreless first quarter, UCLA leads LSU 14-7. Tiger quarterback Max Johnson capped off an eight-play, 63-yard drive with a three-yard touchdown pass to Kayshon Boutte. The Bruins quickly responded when quarterback Dorian Thompson-Robinson connected with tight end Greg Dulich for a 75-yard touchdown on the ensuing drive.
This is the first meeting between the two programs and there is plenty on the line for both schools. A win against LSU would be one of the biggest in the Chip Kelly-era, while falling to UCLA would cause uproar in Baton Rouge.
Ed Orgeron and the Tigers will meet Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss on Oct. 23 in Oxford, Mississippi. Two of the most respected coaches in college football, it’s sure to be an entertaining matchup. Let’s just hope there’s no out of control hecklers at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.
