Charlotte transfer Jahmir Young commits to Maryland with focus on NBA draft
Charlotte transfer Jahmir Young has committed to Maryland but will remain in the NBA draft process, he tells On3.
Young sent the following statement to On3: “As I continue to go through the NBA draft process, I am excited to announce that if I return to college, I will be returning home to the University of Maryland.”
Young, who averaged 19.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 3.7 assists last season, is expected to eventually withdraw his name from the NBA draft by the cutoff date of June 1st and play at Maryland next season.
“First, I want to thank Charlotte for these past three years,” Young said to On3. “I picked Maryland because it is a chance for me to come back home and do something special. I am excited to play under Coach (Kevin) Willard and his staff. Also, being close to my family and them being able to watch me play is something I couldn’t pass up.”
