Maryland the 'top school' for 4-star RB Dejuan Williams
Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances Academy four-star running back Dejuan Williams has multiple schools in pursuit of his talents. However, only one school stands at the top of his list currently.
That school currently alone at the top is Maryland.
“What puts Maryland on my top of my list is first off is because it’s my hometown team,” Williams told On3. “I love the coaching staff. Coach lance has been coming to my spring practices and he always texts me and my parent to make sure I’m doing good. I feel that I could play early if I go there my freshman year, do great things and be a freshman All-American.”
Williams noted that programs such as Oregon, Virginia Tech, Syracuse, Stanford, Boston College, and Pittsburgh are all recruiting him hard but they haven’t stood out to him quite like Maryland has.
This year Williams has taken visits to Penn State, Michigan, Oregon and he was in attendance in Columbus for the Buckeyes spring game.
So far Williams’ lone official visit is to Maryland on June 23. Growing up in Maryland, he said he’s visited the school several times well before he was playing high school football.

“I’ve visited Maryland a lot since I’ve been little,” said Williams, the No. 348 player in the country. “My brother was being recruited there a couple years ago so it started early for me with Maryland.”
While Williams only has the Maryland official locked in, he could take more as he plans to make his commitment decision sometime in June or July.
On3 Scouting Report
“DeJuan Williams is a sturdily-built running back with good speed,” Director of Scouting Charles Power said. ”He’s measured in at around 5-foot-10, 195 pounds and run sub 4.6 in the 40-yard dash. Williams the ability to run through arm tackles at the second level and the speed to pick up chunks of yardage once he’s in the open field. He doesn’t get a ton of touches relative to some other top 2024 running backs, due in part to playing at St. Frances, but has been productive on a per carry basis.”
