Julian Reese announces return to Maryland for senior season
Maryland forward Julian Reese, the brother of LSU women’s basketball star Angel Reese, has announced his return for the 2024-25 season. Reese posted a video via X on Wednesday in which he made his intentions known.
“From the driveway to the park to the gyms full of fans, it’s not something that’s just important to my family, but basketball is where I found my family,” Reese said. “From Baltimore to College Park, Maryland has made me who I am. It’s time for one last run.”
Julian Reese is coming off of a season in which he averaged 13.7 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game. Maryland finished the year 16-17.

With his return to the Terrapins, Reese will have the chance to improve his stock as he will likely enter the 2025 NBA Draft. He would have had a chance to go in the second round if he had entered this year, but could potentially work his way up depending how next season goes.
Reese arrived at Maryland in the for the 2021-22 season and appeared in 32 games to average 17.7 minutes per game. He moves into a starting role by his sophomore season, going on to average 11.4 points, 7.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks. He earned Big Ten honorable mention both as a sophomore and this past season as a junior.
