Maryland lands commitment from transfer forward Patrick Emilien
Patrick Emilien, a transfer from St. Francis Brooklyn has committed to the University of Maryland, he tells On3.
“I felt like Maryland was the perfect spot for me to showcase my game at the highest level in my final year of college,” Emilien said to On3. “Coach (Tony) Skinn and I have had great talks and I am extremely excited to get to work with such a historic program.”

Emilien, a 6-foot-7 forward originally from Toronto, played last season at St. Francis Brooklyn, a part of the Northeast Conference. In his lone season with the Terriers, Emilien averaged 12.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per contest while averaging 47.8-percent from the floor. Prior to last season, Emilien played three seasons at Western Michigan where he averaged four points per game in his career as a Bronco.

Emilien is the fourth transfer headed to College Park to play for Kevin Willard this upcoming season. He joins Jahari Long (0.8 PPG) from Seton Hall, Jahmir Young (19.6 PPG) from Charlotte, and Donald Carey (13.5 PPG) from Georgetown. Also headed to College Park is Noah Batchelor, a three-star sharpshooter from IMG (Fla.) Academy.
