Maryland QB Billy Edwards Jr. will enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, he confirmed to On3 on Thursday evening.

Edwards Jr. just finished his third season with the Terrapins and his fourth overall in college after beginning at Wake Forest. After redshirting his lone season with the Demon Deacons, he has been 311-496 (62.7%) for 3,317 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions when passing in his collegiate career. He has also rushed for 377 yards and 13 more scores.

2024 was Edwards Jr.’s first season as a starting quarterback for the Terps after the departure of Taulia Tagovailoa and winning their job over MJ Morris. He did miss parts of the final two games due to a thumb injury on this throwing hand. Still, over this fall, Edward Jr. was 273-420 (65%) in passing for 2,881 yards, 15 touchdowns, and nine interceptions with him being one of the leaders in completions, attempts, and yardage in the Big Ten and in the NCAA. He also rushed for 150 yards and five scores.
