WR Ezekiel Avit commits to Maryland
Potomac (Md.) Winston Churchill wide receiver Ezekiel Avit has committed to Maryland. He announced the news on social media on Saturday night.

The Terrapins’ 2023 recruiting class now contains 21 commitments. It is composed of 20 three-stars and one unranked prospect. Maryland’s group ranks No. 58 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 11 in the Big Ten.
Avit is one of six wide receivers in the Terrapins’ class. The list includes Severn (Md.) St. John’s three-star Sean Williams, Bowie (Md.) St. Frances Academy three-star Ryan Manning and Orlando (Fla.) Jones three-star Derrick Rogers among others.
Perry (Fla.) Lowndes three-star cornerback Kevis Thomas is the highest-rated prospect in Maryland’s group as the No. 628 overall recruit in the On3 Consensus. He committed to head coach Mike Locksley and his staff on July 31.

Avit is the Terrapins’ first commitment of October and most recent pledge since Aug. 11. That day, Allentown (Penn.) Cheshire Academy three-star defensive lineman Lavon Johnson chose Maryland.
Avit has an On3 NIL Valuation of $5.8K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
