4-star QB Antwann Hill commits to Memphis: ‘I feel like I could change the program’
Warner Robins (Ga.) Houston County four-star quarterback Antwann Hill announced his decommitment from Colorado on Nov. 26. Since then, Memphis emerged as one of the top contenders in his recruitment.
The Tigers and Florida have been “going back and forth” for first place for his pledge and both schools hosted him on official visits. Yet Memphis eventually won out for Hill and the 6-foot-4.5, 215-pound signal-caller announced his commitment to the Tigers on Saturday.
“They treat me like family,” Hill told On3. “They treat me like one of the players. I was able to eat good while at Memphis. I was able to be around the players, coach Ryan Silverfield and coach Tim Cramsey. They are great people on and off the field. There is love from everybody at Memphis.”
Hill hopes to make a big impact at Memphis
Both Florida and Memphis recruited Hill hard, yet the Tigers were able to win out for multiple reasons. They included giving the No. 27 player in Georgia a stronger chance to see the field as a freshman, which played “a big part” in his decision.
“I like the development at Memphis and the opportunity to touch the field earlier there,” said Hill, the No. 200 overall prospect and No. 15 quarterback in the 2025 On3 Industry Ranking. “They are trying to build something there and get what they are doing known as much as possible. They win and with me being there, I feel like I could change the program. That’s what coach Silverfield and coach Cramsey were preaching to me.”

Hill is confident he made the right decision by choosing Memphis
Memphis has already hosted Hill twice. His most recent visit to the Tigers was from June 7-9 for his official visit.
“My recruiting process has been really hectic these last couple of months,” Hill said. “These last two months were really hard on me and my family. I was trying to make the right decision this time and have no regrets about the decision I was going to make.”
Silverfield played a key role in Hill deciding to choose Memphis. The Tigers’ head man has now landed a four-star recruit for the second year in a row after notching a pledge from Lake Dallas (Texas) wide receiver Keonde Henry in the 2024 cycle.
“He’s a real person,” Hill said of Silverfield. “He’s going to tell the truth and everything straight up. Getting all that knowledge coming from him really means a lot.”
