The Mississippi State and Memphis game on Saturday night is currently in a weather delay due to lightning, according to the Mississippi State football Twitter page. Mississippi State currently leads the Memphis Tigers 7-0 with 5:32 remaining in the first quarter. However, as of 9:06 PM EST, there was another lightning strike in Starkville, Mississippi. That meant that it would be 30 minutes before the teams can take the field. Once both teams take the field for a warmup period, there will be 10 minutes for warmups.

Stats for the Bulldogs

At halftime, the Bulldogs were leading Memphis 28-3. Mississippi State is lucky enough to have one of the most surgical signal-callers in all of college football under center in Will Rogers. He’s going to pepper his name all over the school record books once it’s time to hang his cleats up there. At halftime, Rogers completed 22 of 30 passes for 242 yards through the air, while tossing two touchdowns and one interception.

Mississippi State running back Jo’Quavious Marks had an excellent first half, punching in two rushing touchdowns for the Bulldogs. MSU’s leading receiver at the half was Rara Thomas, who pulled in four catches for 54 receiving yards and a touchdown. Before choosing Mississippi State, Thomas was ranked as the No. 113 receiver in America coming out of high school, according to the On3 Consensus Rankings for the 2021 cycle.
