Gray (Ga.) Jones County 2024 quarterback Judd Anderson has found his home with Miami.

The Hurricanes made Anderson a major priority after a recent offer and uptick in communication. Anderson had been talking with the Hurricanes for a while and had a good relationship with the coaching staff.

Anderson visited Miami on Thursday for the first time. Coral Gables just felt right.

“I’d been talking with them for a long time,” Anderson told On3. “I’ve been getting to know those coaches. I think a big part of it was the way Miami made me feel at home. The atmosphere was awesome. They are awesome people. They’re an awesome group of individuals. The energy is different.”

Anderson was in a group text with the Miami coaching staff for weeks. He realized that he was being contacted a lot by the entire staff throughout the process.

“They made me feel good about where I stood with them,” Anderson said.

Anderson’s only moment of tension came when breaking the news to his grandfather. The Anderson family grew up splitting the Georgia and Florida rivalry. Anderson’s grandfather has always been a Florida fan.

He’s quickly working toward the in-state rivals in support of his grandson.

“I called my grandfather yesterday to tell him yesterday and it was kind of a funny thing,” Anderson said. “He went to Florida and he’s been a Florida fan. He was like ‘I have to come to watch that game in 2024’.

Judd Anderson feels the Hurricanes are on the rise

The Hurricanes signed a top 10 class in 2023. They’re working on another strong group in 2024. Anderson was able to watch the Hurricanes on the field on Thursday.

He came away with high hopes for the trajectory of the program moving into the coming years. The Hurricanes’ offensive line was especially impressive to Anderson.

“I think it’s on the rise,” Anderson said. “It’s a place you want to be the next three to four years. Their offensive line is freshmen and they are absolutely humungous. You won’t find a bigger line in the country. Those wide receivers out wide are just crazy fast. It’s the place to be right now.”

Anderson’s commitment gives the Hurricanes their second commitment in the class of 2024. He joins kicker Abram Murray. The Hurricanes are also in the final seven for four-star quarterback Air Noland, who announces his college commitment on Saturday night.
