4-star CB Jaboree Antoine commits to Miami: 'I love the fit for me at Miami'
LSU had him committed once. The in-state program made a late push this week too, but Jaboree Antoine chose to commit to school Miami over LSU.
“It was a tough decision to go against LSU, but Miami is a great school where the coaches care for me and that was big for me,” Antoine told On3. “Coming out of the official visit to Miami, I felt great about them, but it was really before then. They really got to know me and my family, they made me feel important and the way they made me feel made the difference.”
Mario Cristobal, Chevis Jackson and Lance Guidry were all involved with Antoine’s recruitment. Their consistency made an impact on his decision.
“The Miami coaches were reaching out and getting to know me. They wanted to see how I was as a person, not just a football player. Those relationships made me feel good about the program.
“Then I went down for my official visit, and I wasn’t worried about being wined and dined, but I wanted to get more of a feel for the people. That is what it came down to me… The people at Miami and how they like me for me, not just my ability as a player.”
Cristobal played at Miami. He has won championships and the No. 87 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking believes he can be successful under the leader in Coral Gables.
“I love the fit for me at Miami,” Antoine said. “They run a great scheme for me and I can see myself making an early impact there. I have a chance to play early and play for great people. Miami has my type of people and I just like the fit.”

Miami is getting a versatile DB with intelligence
Antoine is the No. 9 cornerback in the country. The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder could line up on the outside or anywhere in the secondary.
“He started at free safety for us as a freshman, he is a great cornerback now, but Jaboree can play anywhere in the secondary,” Westgate head coach Ryan Antoine. “He can play corner, safety or nickel. Jaboree has played in big games, he has a lot of experience and he is a versatile defensive back that coaches can move around or let him follow a player around. He can do it all.”
The new Miami commit also plays quarterback for his high school team and it is the little things that make him different.
“What really stands out about Jaboree is his football I.Q. I have been watching Jaboree since he was five or six years old. He had those intangibles back then that coaches couldn’t teach. He sees the game before it happens. Those types of things separate him from others. He has the ability to see the field and see the game differently than most.”
