5-star DL Justin Scott signs with Miami

Chicago St. Ignatius five-star defensive lineman Justin Scott has signed with Miami.

The 6-foot-4, 315-pound Scott is the No. 15 overall prospect in the 2024 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is the cycle’s No. 2 defensive lineman and top recruit from Illinois.

Scott committed to Ohio State on July 2, but announced a blockbuster flip to Miami on Nov. 29.

“Miami never went away,” he told On3. “Even after I committed to Ohio State, Miami stayed in the back of my mind. I started talking to the Miami coaches again a couple of weeks ago, and after having a talk with my mom, I made the decision to flip to Miami. I have known for about a week. Once I had that talk with my mom to let her know how I felt and found out she was OK with my decision, then I knew.”
