5-star QB Dante Moore to visit Miami
Detroit Martin Luther King five-star quarterback Dante Moore is taking an unofficial visit to Miami this weekend, a source tells On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons. This is his third visit to Coral Gables, Fla., according to the On3 Visit Center. New Miami Hurricanes offensive coordinator Josh Gattis built a relationship with Moore during his previous coaching stop at Michigan.
This visits comes one week before Moore takes his first official visit to LSU.
Moore is the No. 9 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
More has previously told On3’s Jeremy Johnson that Miami made a great move after hiring offensive coordinator Josh Gattis away from Michigan.
“The Gattis situation, him going to Miami was huge, to be honest,” Moore said. “Me and him and a really tight bond. We still do now that he’s at Miami. I’m still talking to the staff and still enjoying it.”

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $99k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
Last weekend, Moore earned a spot in the Elite 11 Finals.
The elite signal-caller has the potential to be a game-changer for a program, and is looking for a spot where he can do that right away.
“Dante wants to play,” Dante Moore’s father Otha previously told On3. “He is not one that wants to sit on the bench. As a 9 year old, he moved up to play with 12-13 year olds to lead the state of Michigan to a national championship.”
