4-star TE Caleb Odom visits Miami Hurricanes
Carrollton (Ga.) four-star tight end Caleb Odom spent Thursday on a visit to Miami. He tweeted out photos from the visit Thursday afternoon.
The visit was Odom’s first to Coral Gables.
Odom is the No. 79 overall prospect and No. 6 tight end in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 12 player in Georgia.
On3 rates Odom higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Ross Is ranked as the No. 38 prospect in the country, the No. 3 tight end and No. 6 player in Georgia according to the 2024 On300.
Miami was one of the 12 schools Odom listed in his top 12 on April 2. The other 11 include Alabama, Colorado, LSU, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Michigan, Ole Miss, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Virginia Tech.
“I really wanted to cut down now because it just felt like the perfect time,” Odom told On3 regarding his top 12. “I’ve taken all my visits so far this spring and I really got to see most of the places that are on my list. It felt like it was right at this time.”
Prior to the Miami visit and Odom announcing the 12, his spring had been full of visits. Odom kicked off March with a visit to Alabama on March 4 and followed that up with visits to Auburn (March 17), Georgia (March 18), Ole Miss (March 24), Tennessee (April 1) and now Miami.
“It’ll definitely be relationships,” Odom said of an important factor in his decision. “I’m looking for the school that is continuing to talk to me and and my mother, and even my grandma. Those are the two people who are gonna help me make my decision and help me influence my decision. It’ll definitely be relationships and just how they use me.

“I already mentioned Ole Miss wants me as a wide receiver. So that already intrigues me because that’s what I want to do. Even the schools that want me at tight end, that isn’t a problem at all. But I’m more leaning toward playing wide receiver.”
Caleb Odom currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $108K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
Miami on the recruiting trail
Miami had one of the best classes in the 2023 recruiting cycle signing 25 players and finishing with top class in the ACC and the No. 6 class in the country.
The Hurricanes are in the mix for several of the nation’s top prospects including several hometown prospects but the success in 2023 hasn’t translated into the 2024 cycle yet.
Miami’s lone 2024 commitment so far is kicker Abram Murray.
