Cam Ward gifts custom diamond chains to Miami offensive line
Through his first 10 games at Miami, Cam Ward has lived up to the billing as the crown jewel of the Hurricanes’ transfer portal class. He knows he needs some help from the guys up front to be successful, though, which is why he gave custom gifts to his offensive line.
Ward took the Miami offensive line to dinner Wednesday night and presented each of them with a chain. Each one had the player’s number, encrusted with diamonds.
Ward continues to make a case for the Heisman Trophy in his first season at Miami. His offensive line is a big reason why, which is why he wanted to repay the favor.
Ward initially declared for the NFL Draft after his senior season at Washington State, but later opted to return to college football and commit to Miami. He now leads the nation with 3,494 passing yards – averaging an FBS-leading 349.4 per game – and 32 touchdowns to help the Hurricanes to a 9-1 record this season.
Despite Miami’s loss to Georgia Tech last week, Ward is still in the mix for the Heisman Trophy. On3’s Andy Staples, Ari Wasserman and Charles Power all gave him a third-place vote in the Heisman Watch ahead of Week 12. His draft stock is also on the rise as the season starts to wind down.

ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. ranked Ward as his No. 2 quarterback in his latest Top 10 QB rankings, trailing only Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders. He was also Kiper’s No. 12 overall player in his updated Big Board, released last week.
Cam Ward has also been able to capitalize on his big season in the NIL space. Since his arrival at Miami, he landed multiple high-profile deals, including a season-long agreement with adidas. He also has partnerships with Bose and C4 Energy, as well as a deal with the Miami-focused NIL collective, Canes Connection.
Ward has an On3 NIL Valuation of $2.1 million, which ranks No. 8 in the On3 NIL 100 – the first of its kind and de facto NIL ranking of the top 100 high school and college athletes ranked by their On3 NIL Valuation. That figure also ranks No. 5 in the college football NIL rankings.
The On3 NIL Valuation is calculated by combining roster value and personal NIL. Roster value is the value an athlete has by being a member of his or her team at his or her school, which factors into the role of NIL collectives. NIL in an athlete’s name, image and likeness and the value it could bring to regional and national brands outside of the scope of NIL collectives.
