Carson Beck, Hanna Cavinder have vehicles stolen overnight in South Florida

Miami Hurricanes quarterback Carson Beck had two cars stolen overnight in South Florida, per a recent report. His girlfriend and fellow Hurricanes athlete Hanna Cavinder also had her vehicle stolen.
Cavinder’s SUV was ultimately found. However, police are still trying to locate Beck’s Mercedes and his Lamborghini.
Beck came to Miami as a transfer from Georgia where he had been the starting quarterback the previous two seasons. It was reported at the time that Beck would be earning a massive NIL deal to play for the Hurricanes in the amount of $4 million.
In going to Miami, Beck also had the opportunity to join Cavinder, who plays for the women’s basketball team at Miami. The two have been dating since the summer of 2024. Cavinder initially transferred there along with her twin sister, Haley, and became a big name in the NIL landscape at the time. That included deals with the likes of Under Armour and Stanley.
As of now, there is no further information about the couple’s stolen cars. It’s unknown who stole the cars and what their motivation was to do so. However, investigations are underway.
This also comes at a time when robberies and thefts of star athletes have been in the news. In December, the FBI issued a warning to athletes around the country that they were being targeted by an organized group of criminals. Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Joe Burrow, Luka Doncic, and Bobby Portis Jr. had all been targeted at the time. The group was going into the homes of athletes while they were on road trips.

The Miami Hurricanes women’s basketball team is 13-12 on the season and struggling to a 3-11 record in ACC play. This season, Cavinder has played in all 25 games, starting in every one of them for the Hurricanes. She’s averaging 6.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game.
Beck, meanwhile, is rehabbing from an arm injury he suffered in the SEC Championship Game to try and get ready for Spring practice and the 2025 college football season. There, many people expect him to be one of the best players in the entire sport, including On3’s Ari Wasserman. It was a thought On3’s Andy Staples weighed in on at the time.
“I think he’s hard to judge because he’s coming off elbow surgery,” Staples said. “We don’t know what his arm is gonna be like coming off the injury and you have two sample sizes of Carson Beck. When he has two of the best pass catchers in Brock Bowers and Ladd McConkey, he’s awesome. When he doesn’t, he’s kind of okay. So, what’s Miami got? Because you and I talked to Xavier Restrepo in Mobile, he’s gone. Jacolby George is gone. Can Miami replace that production in the receiving corps and give Carson Beck a chance to put up big numbers.”
Hopefully, Beck’s cars will quickly be found. For now, though, the investigation is in the hands of the police.
