Dominic Pitelli's three-run bomb gives Miami an early lead over Texas
Miami already kept their season alive earlier today with an 8-5 win over Louisiana. Now, thanks to Dominic Pitelli, the Hurricanes are feeling good early against Texas in the Coral Gables Regional.
The Hurricane’s defense did what they need to do to end the first two innings. Then, after both Zach Levenson and Blake Cyr were both hit by pitches, Pitelli made it worth their trouble by hitting a bomb, while also adding some extra flare afterward, which put the ‘Canes up early with a 3-0 lead.
That was the 13th home run of Pitelli’s junior season with the Hurricanes. It was also the 25th so far of his three-year career with Miami.
After a quiet morning against the Ragin’ Cajuns, Pitelli made a statement early against the Longhorns. Now, Miami will just need that to continue, as well as get some production from the rest of their lineup, to keep their season going at least until tomorrow.

TCU’s Tre Richardson blasts third home run versus Arkansas
The TCU Horned Frogs are obliterating the Arkansas Razorbacks on Sunday evening in the Fayetteville Regional of the 2023 NCAA Baseball Tournament. The Horned Frogs are currently up 17-4 and infielder Tre Richardson has been a massive part of that. He came into Sunday with two home runs on the season, but somehow managed to belt two grand slams against Arkansas. Not only that, but he also just belted his third home run of the day against the Hogs.
Check it out below as his two-run shot, his third home run of the evening, clears the wall.
So far on Sunday, he’s already blasted three home runs and brought in 10 total RBIs. He’s already tallied four hits. Simply put, that’s a historic afternoon.
Richardson is batting a respectable .310 with 44 RBIs this season. However, the Baylor transfer entered Sunday’s game with a mere two home runs this season. In half an hour, he equaled his season total, stepping up when his team needed it most.
