Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy five-star cornerback Ellis Robinson IV has been committed to Georgia since February 1, but that isn’t slowing teams down from trying to flip him.

AlabamaColoradoLSU and Miami were among his other finalists before he pledged to the Bulldogs, and the Hurricanes have continued to turn up the heat on him.

On Saturday, he announced that he will take an official visit to Coral Gables the weekend of June 9 — the only other official he has set right now is a trip to Georgia.

In recent months, the Hurricanes have picked up their communication with Robinson and are working to sell him on the idea of staying in Florida to play his college ball.

“Miami’s been talking to me a lot more,” he told On3’s Chad Simmons last month. “Like every day, somebody from the coaching staff is talking to me. I met the new DC at Miami (Lance Guidry) too through a conversation over the phone. He sounds like a real cool dude and everything. I’m just waiting to go back up there on my official.”

However, he remains locked in with the Bulldogs and has no qualms about his original choice.

“It’s gonna be hard to flip me,” Robinson IV said. “I’m locked in. I’ve been locked in with coach Fran since my freshman year. I’ve always built that bond with him since freshman year.”

USC and Florida State involved as well with Ellis Robinson IV

While they didn’t make his list of finalists, the Trojans and Seminoles are two programs Robinson is keeping an eye on. With recruits now being able to take unlimited official visits, he told On3’s Joseph Hastings that those two are under consideration for trips as well.

“I talk to their defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain and he’s a good dude,” Robinson said of Florida State. “He knows exactly what he’s talking about and everything. His son’s in the league too so I know he know what he’s talking about and everything.

“Just hearing from him, I know it’s like I could gain a lot from him.”

When it comes to USC, the Trojans have a bit more of a familiar feel to Robinson even though they’re nearly 3,000 miles away.

“Coach (Donte) Williams is a real cool coach,” said Robinson, the No. 7 player in the country. “Him and Bookie (Radley-Hiles) came to IMG as well. Talking to him is good and it kind of feels like home over there too a little bit with that IMG connection with Bookie.”
