Former TCU center Ernest Udeh Jr. committed to Miami out of the NCAA transfer portal. He spent two seasons with the Horned Frogs.

The 6-foot-11, 250-pounder is coming off his best year at the college level, averaging 6.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists while playing just under 27 minutes per game. He notched six double-doubles in the 30 games he appeared in and 10 games with 10-plus rebounds and ranked No. 7 in the Big 12 in defensive rebound percentage.

A native of Orlando (Fla.), Udeh signed with Kansas out of high school and played one season with the Jayhawks before transferring to play for Jamie Dixon and Co. He’s now on the third college of his career with one year of eligibility remaining.

As a member of the Class of 2022, Udeh was a four-star recruit out of Orlando (Fla.) Dr. Phillips, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 8 overall prospect in the state, the No. 6 center in the class and the No. 32 overall prospect in the class.

With Udeh coming in, Miami fills another roster spot going into 2025-26. It helps despite losing guard Paul Djobet to the portal. He averaged 5.5 points, 2.6 rebounds and 0.9 assists for the ACC program over the course of the 2024-25 season. Djobet entered the portal in late March.

All told, Djobet spent two seasons with Miami. He originally came to the Hurricanes as a three-star recruit out of Arlington Christian School (Fairburn, GA), according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Moreover, Miami ultimately finished its 2024-25 season 7-24 overall, including a 3-17 record against ACC competition. Their record in ACC play earned them last place in the conference standings, and were one of three teams to miss out on the ACC Tournament, along with NC State and Boston College.
