Four-star linebacker Adarius Hayes of Largo (FL) High flipped his commitment from Florida to Miami Wednesday afternoon.

The 6-foot-4, 225 pounder had been committed to the Gators since January.

“To be honest what made me pick Miami over Florida is because the Relationship and bond that I have with Coach Dereck Nicholson and the energy and atmosphere with all the other Coaches is what I love about the University of Miami like it’s a unreal moment for me because with me having similarities with the Coaches and showing me how I can be developed as a football player and a young man in life!”

The Sunshine State linebacker joins coach Mario Cristobal and the Hurricanes’ top 10 2024 class. He is accompanied by five-star defensive lineman Justin Scott, four-star EDGE Marquise Lightfoot, and others.

Scouting Summary

On3’s Scouting and Rankings Team writes about him as a college recruit:

“Physical inside linebacker at his best as a downhill run stopper. Has a taller stature at around 6-foot-3 and has added considerable mass over his high school career. Has unverified weight, but looks to be closer to the 220 mark than his previous verified 210 pounds. A prolific tackler, racking up over 375 stops in his high school career. Quick processor and shows a quick trigger when moving downhill. Seeks out contact and looks to detonate on defenders. More than willing to throw his body around. Stops ball carriers in their tracks when they meet in the hole. Plays with a level of violence. Also effective as a blitzer. Has some tightness in his hips and can improve his overall athleticism and ability to play in space. Lacks verified athletic markers. Older for the cycle, turning 19 years-old in November of his senior year.”

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $125K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
