Four-Star RB Mark Fletcher commits to Miami
Four-star running back Mark Fletcher of Fort Lauderdale (FL) American Heritage announced his commitment to Miami Sunday night.
The 6-foot-2, 220 pounder was previously committed to Ohio State, before decommitting in November.
Fletcher on why he chose Miami
“It’s always been my dream school and they never stopped recruiting me from 8th grade, even with a new staff,” Fletcher said. “I admire the hunger the coaches have to put Miami back on top. It’s a blessing that they see me as a player to put them back on top.”
Relationship with coaching staff stood out
“I’m close with Kevin Smith and Cristobal,” Fletcher said. “They told me that they are going to give me the ball and want to establish a big back run game.”

Mark Fletcher Scouting Summary
“Big back who projects as a between the tackles power runner at the college level,” On3’s Director of Scouting Charles Power wrote. “Has a taller build and should top out north of 230 pounds after spending time in a college strength program. Plays for one of the top talent-producing programs in the state of Florida. Shows good feet with the ability to make defenders miss with lateral agility. Has some natural power and contact balance. Squares his shoulders and has the leg drive to run through arm tackles. Catches the ball well out of the backfield. Should be dangerous on the goal line. Will need to continue improving his top-end speed in order to rip off long runs once in the open field. Solid production, but lacks the high-end production profile of most top running back prospects heading into his senior season.”
Fletcher ranks as the No. 253 player in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that accounts for all four major recruiting sites. He also tabs in as the No. 16 running back and the No.49 player in the state of Florida.
