Four-Star WR Ny Carr commits to Miami

Four-star wide receiver Ny Carr of Moultrie (GA) Colquitt County High announced his commitment to Miami Sunday afternoon.
The 6-foot, 170 pounder chose the Hurricanes over Tennessee, Auburn, and Georgia.
“The way they started off the season throwing the ball and winning stood out to me.”
His relationship with the coaching staff and their plan for him stood out as well.
“I’m close with everyone,” Carr said. “They plan on using me all over the field just to create big matchups and let me take over.”
The Peach State wide receiver joins coach Mario Cristobal and the Hurricanes’ top 20 class in the 2024 team rankings. He is accompanied by four-star wide receiver Joshisa Trader, four-star running back Kevin Riley, and others.

Scouting Summary
On3’s Director of Scouting and Rankings writes about Jackson as a college recruit:
“Fluid route-runner who wins with ball tracking and creating yards after the catch. Shows excellent body control and balance in his route running and at the catch point. Solid production as a sophomore with 40 catches for 856 yards and 13 touchdowns for one of the top high school programs in Georgia. Three-sport athlete that jumped a 5’10” high jump in 2021 who also plays basketball. All-around skill set for the position who will continue to improve as he physically develops into his frame.”
He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $112K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
Personal Life (via On3)
“Moultrie (Georgia) Colquitt County coach Sean Calhoun isn’t shy about heaping praise on Ny Carr. “Ny has an extremely outgoing personality,” Calhoun told On3’s Dawgs HQ. “When he walks into the room, he has that presence. People are just drawn to him. He’s funny and really personable. He knows a little bit about a lot, so he can just talk to you about anything. He’s a joy to be around. He sticks out in a good way.” Carr also sticks out on the football field. In 2022, Carr racked up 1,051 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns. He averaged 17 yards a reception. Those numbers bettered his 2021 season, which saw him catch 40 passes for 862 yards and 13 scores. “There are a couple of things that jump off,” Calhoun said. “First, is his speed. He has elite speed, and he can take the top off, which creates problems. Second, it’s about how effortlessly he catches the ball. He has such long arms and big hands. His catch radius is really good for quarterbacks, because they can be a bit off and be a little bit off target, and he can catch it. The way I describe it is he just plucks it out of the air. He really does.” Away from football, Carr enjoys playing basketball and running track. His parents are Nneka Hamilton and Milton Carr.”
