2025 4-star S Jarcoby Hopson Jr. sets Miami visit
Horn Lake (Miss.) Lake Cormorant four-star safety Jarcoby Hopson will be visiting Miami on March 24. He announced the news over Twitter on Thursday.
Hopson is the No. 41 overall prospect and No. 3 safety in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 3 player in Mississippi.
The 6-foot-1.5, 205-pound defensive back holds 20 offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Ole Miss has a very close lead for his commitment at 31.5%.
Hopson most recently visited Auburn on March. 13. He told Jeffrey Lee of Auburn Live that his trip to the Tigers went “very good” and he “learned a lot” while on the Plains.
“They tell me if I come here I will be a great player,” Hopson said. “I’ll be developed and I fit their defensive scheme.”
“I like how their defense is set up, how their coaches coach, how the players learn quick and pickup after their mistakes,” he added. “I feel like I could learn a lot from being with them.
“I’ll be back, probably in the summer.”

Additionally, Ole Miss is another SEC program pushing for the Mississippi native. Rebels defensive coordinator Pete Golding is one of the coaches recruiting him to Oxford.
“Coach Pete is a very cool person,” Hopson told Zach Berry of OM Spirit on Feb. 27. “He was telling me where I would play in his defense. He’s been very welcoming.”
“They like me as an outside linebacker/safety,” he added. “The JACK position.”
Only two prospects from Mississippi are ranked ahead of Hopson. They are Ackerman (Miss.) Choctaw County four-star wide receiver Caleb Cunningham (No. 6 in the On3 Industry Ranking) and Hattiesburg (Miss.) four-star defensive lineman Andrew Maddox (No. 14).
Hopson has an On3 NIL Valuation of $46K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
