On Saturday, Jim Larranaga and the Miami Hurricanes beat the Wake Forest Deamon Deacons. With the win, Miami moved to 22-5 on the season and remained a perfect 15-0 at home.

After the game, Larranaga explained why he actually credits the student section for helping the Hurricanes remain perfect at home.

“I think it started very early that the students in particular have shown great resiliency and a great persistence in coming and creating the environment to give us a home court advantage,” Jim Larranaga said.

“When I was asked about being undefeated at home, well, a lot of that has to do with the fan support that we’re getting. It’s terrific to have people screaming and yelling in your corner because when we go on the road they’re all against us.”

Tuesday night, Miami will play Virginia Tech on the road. After that game, the Hurricanes only have two games left, both of which will be at home. Those will be against rival Florida State and Pitt.

Jim Larranaga says Jordan Miller is underrated

Head coach Jim Larranaga said that Jordan Miller is the most underrated player in the country after he played all 40 minutes against North Carolina.

“But what I really do like is we were 22-for-26 from the foul line and we had Nijel Pack and Jordan Miller, both in the 20s,” Larranaga said.

“Jordan with 24 points and 11 rebounds, the guy is great. And Nijel Pack with 23. I’ve said this over and over again. I think he is the most underrated, Jordan is the most underrated player in the country because the amount of things he does well on the court makes him a very hard matchup for anybody.”
