WATCH: Jim Larrañaga, Kameron McGusty share hilarious back and forth over Miami celebration
Jim Larrañaga and Miami were understandably happy after defeating Iowa State Friday night in the Sweet 16. Afterward, he and Kameron McGusty had a hilarious back and forth over the celebration in the locker room.
Someone took the water cooler and dumped it on Larrañaga. Then, he showed off some dance moves, and it doesn’t sound like he realized he did.
When recalling the celebration, McGusty and his coach had a good laugh about what happened.
“The water was cold,” Larrañaga said. “And I don’t know, did I dance at all?”
“Yeah,” McGusty said.
“I did?” Larrañaga responded. “Was it any good?”
Well, someone got video of Larrañaga’s moves, and it made its way onto Twitter. It was quite a sight.
“One of my dance moves from the ’60s,” Larrañaga joked. “Most of you were probably not born yet, but that was really good dancing then.”
Miami now advances to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament, where it’ll take on No. 1 seed Kansas Sunday at 2:20 p.m. ET with a trip to the Final Four on the line.

After the Hurricanes defeated the Cyclones in the Sweet 16, Miami became the third ACC team to make the Elite Eight, joining North Carolina and Duke. A reporter asked Larrañaga what it means for the league to have three of the last eight teams standing, and he had a quick-witted response.
“Probably that we had a down year,” Larrañaga joked. “Normally we would have four or five. Okay. Somebody laughed at that.”
Then, Larrañaga gave his full thoughts on how big it is for the ACC to have three of the final eight teams. He said despite what was said during the regular season, the conference is still strong.
